Christine Caine said “To build a strong team you must see someone else's strength as a complement to your weakness not a threat to your position or authority” I worked with a manager who was threatened by a salesman in his department because the salesperson was making about twice as much as that manager. He was threatened for no reason. When offered a management position, the salesman said “why would I take a pay cut to get more work?” He knew his strengths and focused on being the best there. If the manager would have worked WITH him... instead of AGAINST him... they would have been an awesome team!
