I thought that was an odd thing to tell a stranger, but whatever. We ended up working together on a few projects. Over the course of a few years, I had the chance to visit with him many more times than I ever thought was necessary. My wife asked me why he was calling so much. I told her. “I think I'm one of the only people he can talk to... where I'm not 'on the clock' with him. I was just helping him with some projects... but he helped me see how lonely success can be if you measure everything in dollars!
