George Carlin said “Most people work just hard enough not to get fired and get paid just enough money not to quit.” Sadly, I worked in that environment for much of my career. I never worked at places where we were super well paid.. but I always loved what I was blessed to do. I would say that I put in more effort that the bare minimum for sure, but I worked with some people who absolutely knew what the bare minumim was and they lived up to that line... and only that line... on a regular basis. One guy knew exactly how many sick days we got and he knew he could come in at a certain time and it only counted as a quarter day. It was amazing how hard he worked at getting out of work!
