Gandhi said “In matter of conscience, law of majority has no place”. What a
great saying. Laws of majority are not always bad, but in a situation where the
majority always rules, it can also become a mob rule situation. Many times
these mobs can be ill-informed and this could lead to some pretty bad things.
In history we have far too many examples of this. Some of these things have lead
is into major wars… other examples of this have lead whole countries into famine
and yet other examples have let to other great disaster through out history.
Again, it’s not always bad, but I agree with Gandhi, “In matter of conscience,
law of majority has no place”.
