Vincent van Gogh said "I would rather die of passion than of boredom." I love that quote. Vincent Van Gogh is a super famous painter today, but in his day, the late 1800's, he was not quite as popular. He created over 2000 works of art, including over 850 oil paintings, most in his final two years before he took his own life at age 37, shortly after cutting off his own ear! His last words were, “The sadness will last forever.” He died penniless and destitute believing himself to be an artistic failure. In 1990, about a hundred years later, one of his paintings sold for $83 Million, that would be an equivalent to $180 Million today. What a sad story, but fascinating quote!
