Ethel Barrymore said "You grow up the day you have your first real laugh at yourself." Excellent quote. I apparently grew up very young. I've been laughing at myself for a long time. I feel very blessed to have grown up in a big family. I was a middle child and I tried to keep the peace. I would often diffuse a situation with humor. Sometimes this worked... sometimes I'd have to defend myself in other ways. I always preferred the humorous path! I'm a lover, not a fighter! I know many people who are very good at laughing at themselves, but we can all think of people who need help with this. They take everything personally, if you think I'm taking about you right now... I am! Just take a chill pill and calm down!
