Helen Keller said “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” How true that is!? Have you ever attempted anything without hope? I've never tried this myself, but I've watched other do this. One of the saddest things to watch is someone giving up on their dream. I've been in media for just over 35 years. During that time I've helped businesses go through a “store closing” period. Some are actually a joyous occasion. A planned retirement is completely different than an unplanned closure. I've been with owners as they choke back tears while telling me the vision they had, but it never happened. Now they're haggling over the price of the fixtures as vultures pick the bones of their dream. That is hard to do. My least favorite place to be, but I want to help them through it!
