Buckminster Fuller said “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” What a great concept. I just had a conversation with a client about something very similar. They have multiple business locations. There is a space in one building that is not being used. It is an older building that will need some renovations to make it work for the project we're talking about. They happen to have another building in the same exact town with all new renovations from a few years ago. There is a space that has never been finished. I suggested that we look at that space and finish that instead of trying to do the old building, because when it is all over and done, that will still be an older building in a less popular area, so why not do the newer place!?
