Very nice quote. I've seen this too. I know someone who is very good at mirroring people. He is a great guy all the time, but when he's with someone who speaks fast, I noticed that he seems to speak faster. When he's with someone who speak more slowly, he slows down his speaking. He also talks about things that matter to the other people. When he speaks to me we talk about radio or comedy or some event I'm working on. Everyone seems to like him, but I think they like the reflection of themselves shining back from him. He's not being phony, that's just who he really is.
