Amelia Earhart said "Never interrupt someone doing something you said couldn't be done." What a great quote. I worked with a guy who was the ultimate glass half empty guy! No matter what idea I had, he wanted to shoot it down. He had excuses that canceled out other excuses. It was never anything expensive. My ideas were almost always free, or at the very least, very inexpensive and I'd walk in with a plan to cover the cost of the promotion. I was so excited when we got a new manager who let me do these things. We saw an explosion of growth in our sales department because we no longer had the gate keeper stopping us from doing the things we wanted to do. The new manager told me, as long as I don't need to ask corporate for money, just do it!
