Someone, somehow will figure out your little secret and if it's been hidden long enough, it can cause you more damage. I've made some mistakes in my life, but I've stepped up to fess up each time. I recently had an issue where I billed someone for a job that ended up not happening. We were billing weekly before, then they asked us to switch to a monthly bill. We switched. We billed for a whole month, but before the end of the month, there was one event that was adjusted. We had already billed and they had already paid for it. I told them right away. He said, “We never would have noticed”, but I said “I would have known” so we did the right thing!
