Malala Yousafzai said "When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful." YES! I've been that voice. I was on the board for a nonprofit in 2020, when the whole world was bonkers. We had some tough choices to make. We closed things down temporarily for a few months, but we also signed up for some grants and some loans. When it was time to reopen, I was on a zoom call for a board meeting and the chairman of the board wanted to shut down the nonprofit permanently. He suggested that we give the funds back and close things down. I let everyone else say their thing, they all came to the conclusion that it was the right thing. I chimed in and disagreed. I made my case and one by one they agreed to stay the course. It is still open today!
