Lolly Daskal said "When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right things a chance to catch you." I never met Lolly, but I agree with this quote. In his book Good to Great, Jim Collins shares a story about a paper company who made the decision to sell their paper mills. It was not a unanimously popular decision. It could have become the end of them if this risk turned out to be wrong. But it was a calculated risk and they took it. The mills did better on their own... and the paper company did much better on their own as well. When they were trying to do too many things... they were a good company... but when they focused on ONE thing... Kimberly-Clark became a GREAT company!
