Charles Spurgeon said "If faith asks, it will receive; if hope seeks, it will find; and if love knocks, the door will be opened to it." I love this quote. So many times it is as simple as asking. A friend was going to law school back in the 1990s. He, and dozens of other law students in his class, applied for a single open internship at a law office near the school. This law office had a reputation for helping their interns in amazing ways. Many of them ended up working at the firm after graduation. My friend applied, then a few days later called to see if they had chosen their intern. He was selected because he was the very first one to follow up!
