Max Planck said "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it" Wow, what a concept. Sometimes that IS what it takes, for a generation change for something to catch on. Many things from my childhood have faded into obscurity. Some of these things were probably ready to fade away, but some of them just went away because the next generation was not raised the we were. I miss video rental stores, but I also appreciate how easy it is to click a few buttons to see anything you can imagine!
