Jason Fried said "There's nothing wrong with staying small. You can do big things with a small team." I agree with this 100%! I know companies who make millions of dollars every year with a small team of people who care. You don't have to be the biggest crew do get the job done. If you have the right three or four people, they will out perform the wrong three or four HUNDRED people. When you're building a team, you want to find the right people and you want to treat them right so they stay with you forever. I know a guy who said he never taught anyone on the team too much, so they couldn't leave him to compete with him. I said “Instead you're paying them to stay here and not be the best!”
