Amy Carmichael said “You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.” So true! I don't know what the context is for this quote, so I might be talking about something completely different than what Amy meant, but I know a wealthy family that instantly came to mind when I heard this quote. The grandfather gave everything he could to his family because he loved them so much. He set aside time and spent as much time as he could possibly spend with his children and grandchildren. Sadly, he passed away fairly early. His wife was a built differently. She didn't like spending time with the family. She would send checks, but they really wanted her spending her time with them, not just money, but that is all she had to give. I think this fits the quote! “You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.”
