Simon Sinek said “Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.” Excellent quote! Have you ever been in charge? I have. Many times, actually, but I'm gonna talk about the first time I felt like I was in WAY over my head. I was 29 years old. I had been in radio for about a dozen years, but I had never been the one in charge of much. I had been a manager, but only for a few people. Then I accepted a sales manager position. I told the company I'd stay for one year, no matter what. I wanted to quit on my very first day. I was in over my head. My local boss was not a nice man and I was in charge of 20 salespeople. I was younger than most of them. I walked into that with many questions, but I was blessed to have good people who joined me on my mission. Together we made a really big difference that year.
