Drucker said “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
This is a great quote. I had a nice conversation recently that
reminds me of this. I talked to a guy who was really down about his
business and everything else really. He began believing the negative
news. He was watching things that had absolutely no impact on him,
but internalized these things so much that he was actually seeing the
negative impact. He was letting these outside forces impact his
internal plans. I'm so much the opposite of this. I don't care what
other people are doing, it doesn't change my plans. I try to focus my
time and effort on the things that are closest to me, and the things
I can actually adjust to affect change in MY world. The little person
on the TV screen can talk about how bad it is, but I focus on how to
make it good here, for our people.
