I had to check into this to see what industry they're talking about, it was an email to all employees on Satya Nadella's first day as CEO of Microsoft back in 2014! The computer and tech industry really does lean into innovation. When AI was unleashed on the world a few years ago, it made a major ripple in things at these companies. We happened to be visiting some friends about a month after Chat GPT was introduced. Our friend that we were visiting is a programmer at Microsoft. His department was working extra hours to make themselves less expendable to the company. It worked! When they laid off thousands of programmers, our friend and his whole team were sparred!
