Bill Gates said “Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.” I agree with Mr. Gates. The best lessons I've learned in life were not on the top of the mountain. The views were always better from up there, but the lessons were learned in the valleys. When things seemed to be going wrong. THAT is when you start to look at things from a different perspective. That's when you dig in to find solutions. Why in the heck would you look for solutions when things are going well?! This is one of the reasons I like to work with people who have experienced failure in their lifetime. Someone who has lost a game, or missed an opportunity. They know what that feels like so they don't get too worked up if it happens again. They're ready to handle it! They're actually prepared for it and expect bumps in the road!
