Tina Turner said "Living a joyful life, I've found, is not about trying to avoid the unavoidable. Joy comes from summoning a strong life force to overcome problems." Wow, this is a great way to look at things. Think of the problems Tina Turner had to overcome. She is an amazing talent and I believe we will someday look back to realize that she didn't get as much credit as she deserved for her amazing career. She did well. She was a force to be reckoned with, but she was not fighting for her chance in the spotlight on some even ground. Everything she did was an uphill battle. But she made it... through a very racially divided time in American history, she let her voice shine through. Through a very abusive relationship with Ike Turner, she let her voice shine through. She passed away in 2023. I still don't think we realize what we had in her.
