Sir Isaac Newton said "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." I love this. I feel the same way about the things I do. When I get a compliment about something I've done, I always think about the reason I can do whatever it is I'm doing. So many times it is because someone else blazed the trail. I'm able to follow in their footsteps to do the things I'm doing now. I think we should all aim to leave a path for the next generation. I'd love our path to be worth following too. Are you standing on the shoulders of giants? If they're still alive, you should reach out to them to let them know how much appreciate the path they blazed for you. I had a weird conversation with a guy I knew 30 years ago. He was telling me how much he learned from my dad. I didn't even know they really knew one another. But he appreciated him!
