Rudolph said "I like comedy as a group sport." Funny, but
that's a good way to look at what she did on Saturday Night Live. It
was not one person telling jokes, it was an ensemble cast that worked
together to create humorous situations that brought laughter,
hopefully. There have been seasons of SNL that were amazingly funny.
There have also been seasons that have often come up short on laughs.
Sometimes it's the writers, other times it's the cast, sometimes
maybe a little bit of both. It seems that their success has been
steadily going up and down over the last fifty years, but imagine how
hard it would have been to be on top the whole time. To make every
skit funny and to have every guest host knock it out of the park! I
think they've done well.
